Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 September 2026
These terms apply to the PlainClaim Shopify app. Installing the app means you accept them. If you do not, uninstall it — there is nothing else to settle.
What PlainClaim is
A display tool. It shows the European Commission's official harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity, and the official EU GARAN label, on your storefront, and keeps a record of the guarantee details you enter.
What PlainClaim is not
It is not legal advice, and it does not make you compliant by itself. Whether a particular product qualifies for a commercial guarantee of durability, whether your shop falls within the scope of the rules, and whether your wider obligations are met are your decisions — and your lawyer's, if you are unsure. We display what you tell us to display.
In particular, the EU GARAN label may only be used where the producer of a product offers a guarantee of durability free of charge, covering the entire product, for more than two years, and has made that known to you. You confirm this for each product in the app. That confirmation is yours, and you are responsible for its accuracy.
Your responsibilities
- Enter accurate guarantee information, and keep it accurate.
- Keep the producer's statement or your own guarantee terms available, as the law requires.
- Use the app in line with Shopify's terms and applicable law.
Plans and payment
The legal guarantee notice is included on every plan, including the free one, and always will be. Paid plans add convenience features and are billed by Shopify through Managed Pricing in USD; Shopify's billing terms govern charges, refunds and cancellation. Cancelling returns you to the free plan; the notice keeps working.
Availability
We aim for the app to be available, but do not guarantee it. Note that the notice and label render from your own theme and your own product data, so they keep working on your storefront even when our admin is not reachable.
Official EU material
The harmonised notice and the GARAN label are © European Union. PlainClaim reproduces them unaltered, apart from filling the three fields the regulation designates as editable. PlainClaim is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Union or by Shopify.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from the app is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending
Uninstall at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or the law, and will tell you why. On uninstall your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Law
These terms are governed by Czech law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
